Bobby Shmurda Biography

news-detailsBobby Shmurda was born Ackquille Jean Pollard on August 1, 1994. He began rapping at the age of 10. The first song he remixed was Crime Mob's "Knuck If You Buck" in 2004.

He rose to fame following the release of "Hot N***a", which has the beat from Lloyd Banks' song "Jackpot". The track became a hit and has spawned numerous remixes including by Young Jeezy, Juicy J, French Montana, Lil Kim, Gunplay and T.I. The original song has so far peaked at No. 9 on Billboard Hot 100.

Its accompanying music video features a street dance called the Shmoney Dance that went viral and was even performed by Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z during their "On the Run" tour.

Shmurda is signed to Epic Records. He's planning to release his debut album under the major label. There's currently no official word on when the record that's produced by Jahlil Beats will finally arrive.
