The '13 Going on 30' actress is reportedly in talks to star opposite Matt Damon in 'Animals', a Netflix crime thriller that will be directed her former husband.

AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may be working together almost two decades since they last shared screen. Proving that they remain amicable despite their split eight years ago, the Oscar-winning writer and producer has recruited his ex-wife for his next directorial project.

The "Alias" alum is reportedly in talks to star in crime thriller "Animals", which is set up at Netflix. Should the deal be sealed, she will star opposite Matt Damon, who is producing the project along with Affleck.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, pieces are still being put together, including Garner's deal, but if it all fits, filming could start in March in Los Angeles. The Insneider was the first to report the news.

Written by Connor McIntyre with revisions by Billy Ray, "Animals" centers on a mayoral candidate and his wife whose son is kidnapped. Surrounded by plenty of enemies, political and otherwise, the husband and wife have no choice but to get their hands dirty in order to save their son.

Damon is likely circling the lead role of the mayoral candidate, with Garner eying the role of the wife. Affleck will direct the pic as he and Damon are producing the film alongside Dani Bernfield of Artists Equity and Brad Weston and Collin Creighton of MakeReady. Michael Joe and Kevin Halloran are serving as executive producers.

Affleck and Garner have appeared together in front of the camera in three films, which all were made before their marriage in 2005. They are "Pearl Harbor" (2001), "Daredevil, The Movie" (2003) and the spin-off "Elektra" (2005). Should she sign on to star in "Animals", it will mark the first time she's directed by her ex-husband.

The former spouses announced their split 2015 and their divorce was finalized in 2018. They have since been amicably co-parenting their three children, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 11.

Affleck's last directorial effort was "Air", a biographical sports drama about the origin of Air Jordan, a line which Nike created in a deal with then-rookie NBA player Michael Jordan. The movie, which was released in 2023, also starred his longtime BFF Damon.
