The 'Poor Things' actress nabs the second Golden Globe Award in her career, while Murphy's win marks the third trophy for the Christopher Nolan-directed pic at the ceremony.

AceShowbiz - More winners have been announced at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, with Emma Stone and Cillian Murphy joining the list of actors who nabbed an award each. Both stars were honored for their acting in their movies, "Poor Things" and "Oppenheimer" respectively.

The Oscar-winning actress was named Best Female Actor - Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy for her role as Bella Baxter in the fantasy black comedy. She edged out Fantasia Barrino ("The Color Purple"), Jennifer Lawrence ("No Hard Feelings"), Natalie Portman ("May December"), Alma Poysti ("Fallen Leaves") and Margot Robbie ("Barbie").

It's Stone's second Golden Globe in her career, having won one in the same category back in 2022 for her role in "Cruella". She is nominated in another category, Best Actress in a Television Series - Drama for "The Curse", in the Sunday, January 7 ceremony.

In her speech, the actress, who is notoriously tight-lipped about her private life, dedicated the award to her husband Dave McCary. "This is amazing, thank you. Dave, I have to start with you really quickly. I love you very much. Thank you for everything!" she said, before pivoting to her castmates, particularly Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo and Rami Yousef for making "every day an absolute joy."

Murphy, meanwhile, won his first Golden Globe for his portrayal of American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer in the epic biopic. He won over other strong contenders, including Bradley Cooper ("Maestro"), Leonardo DiCaprio ("Killers of the Flower Moon"), Colman Domingo ("Rustin"), Barry Keoghan ("Saltburn") and Andrew Scott ("All of Us Strangers").

Murphy's acting accolade marks the third win for "Oppenheimer" at the 81st annual ceremony. Earlier that night, his co-star Robert Downey Jr. won Best Supporting Male Actor - Motion Picture for his role as Lewis Strauss. Later, Christopher Nolan, who helmed the pic, was named as Best Director.

"Anatomy of a Fall" also already bagged multiple awards at the show after winning Best Screenplay for Justine Triet and Arthur Harari and Best Picture (Non-English Language). Hayao Miyazaki's "The Boy and the Heron", meanwhile, was picked as Best Animated Film.
