The famous rock band portrays the president-elect as a monster delivering hate speeches in the newly-released lyric video for 'Troubled Times'.

AceShowbiz - Green Day released an official lyric video for "Troubled Times" on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 16. The video made quite a buzz since the band portrays president-elect Donald Trump as a monster in it.

The video includes pictures of famed protests as well as moments of resistance and rebellion. But the star of the video is a Trump-like figure, who wears a hat with Trump's infamous slogan "Make America Great Again" written on it. The Trump-like figure is spotted standing on a podium while spreading hate messages through the microphones. The Trump-like figure is portrayed as a monster as it has sharp teeth and frizzy yellow hair covering its eyes.

The new song channels the current political climate in the United States as the lyrics go, "What part of history we learned/ When it's repeated/ Some things will never overcome/ If we don't seek it/ The world stops turning/ Paradise burning/ So don't think twice... We live in troubled times. "

This is not Green Day's first time voicing their dislike towards Trump. Previously on both their MTV EMA and American Music Award performances, the group added a chant "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA" to their hit song "Bang Bang".

Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day, said the band did not rehearse that "Bang Bang" performance. "We're just as much in shock as everybody else is about this... But I think with the AMAs [performance], it was a good start to challenge [Trump] on all of his ignorant policies and his racism," he said.
