Artist of the Week: Chance the Rapper
Music

The Chicago rapper made history on Billboard 200 with his latest critically-acclaimed release, 'Coloring Book'.

AceShowbiz - Chance the Rapper is back with another masterpiece. Three years after rising to prominence following the release of "Acid Rap", he dropped another highly-acclaimed mixtape titled "Coloring Book" back in May.

Not only did it garner rave reviews from fans and critics, but the project also helped Chance set history on Billboard 200. Only available exclusively on Apple Music in its first week, it debuted on the chart at No. 8 with 38,000 equivalent units.

In Billboard's metrics, 1,500 streams equate to one album, meaning the mixtape was streamed more than 57 million times. By doing so, "Coloring Book" becomes the first album ever to enter the chart solely from streams.

It's worth noting that Kanye West's "The Life of Pablo" also ruled streaming services after it was released as a Tidal exclusive earlier this year. It hit other services back in April and eventually reached Billboard 200's No. 1. However, the sales still included traditional album purchases.

After dropping his new mixtape, Chance appeared on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio program to discuss various things, including Kanye's contribution to the album's opening track "All We Got" and his plan to embark on an international tour that's expected to start later this year.
