As CBS has not renewed its new superhero series for a second season yet, it's said that CBS President Les Moonves and Warner Bros. TV are still in talks about the fate of the show.

AceShowbiz - A big question was raised when CBS announced a batch of renewed shows in March without "Supergirl" on the list, although CBS President Les Moonves had previously said that the network was happy with all of its freshman series. And now two weeks to go before the Eye is set to announce its fall schedule, "Supergirl" is yet to be renewed.
According to TheWrap, Moonves is currently deep in talks with Warner Bros. Television about the comic book-adapted series. While the network would like the show to come back, the show's big budget isn't quite justified by the ratings. The show debuted to 13 million viewers back in October, but half of the audience has since left the show over the season.
Words are, there's an option that the network's boss is currently considering, which is to move "Supergirl" to The CW, which is a joint venture between CBS and Warners. The show may be a better fit for the youth-skewing network which already has superhero series "Arrow" and "The Flash", but the show's expensive budget could be a problem.
Hence budget cuts are said to be another potential move the studio takes to keep the show alive.
However, a talent rep has denied the report, insisting, "That's been a rumor for two years. Zero fact."
