'The Five' hosts claim the HBO show conveys a liberal agenda as Jeff Daniel's Will McAvoy described the Tea Party as an 'American Taliban.'

AceShowbiz - On the eve of its season 2 premeire, "The Newsroom" gets blasted by "The Five" hosts. During a segment called "Hollywood Lionizes Liberals" on the Fox News Channel afternoon program, the show's contributors called the HBO series a "liberal fantasy" because of the characters' view on Occupy Wall Street and Tea Party.

Host Greg Gutfield noted in the segment that Jeff Daniels' Will McAvoy called the Tea Party the "American Taliban," but Dev Patel's Neal praised the Occupy Wall Street movement as being akin to the "Arab spring." Gutfield sarcastically stated, "When was this series written? Before the rapes, the murders, before OWS disappeared?"

"So Hollywood gets everything wrong again. If Newsroom covered Roman Polanski's crimes, they'd change the 13-year-old girl to 13-year-old Scotch," he added. "But that's the great thing about TV. Whatever fails horribly in reality is resurrected in lib land as the victor."

In season 2 of "The Newsroom", fictional news anchor Will McAvoy lands in hot water over his controversial statement about the Tea Party. Quoting Jane Fonda's Leona Lansing, "the chips are falling" for the "News Night" anchor.

Set to debut July 14 at 10 P.M. ET on HBO, the second installment of the Aaron Sorkin-created drama series will also address the 2012 Presidential election.
