'American Idol' Top 5 Performances: Candice Glover's 'When You Believe' Moves Mariah Carey to Tears

The 'We Belong Together' singer is moved by Glover's amazing version of her duet song with the late Whitney Houston.

It's the very first time in the history of "" to have an all-girl Top 5. On Wednesday, April 17, a special night dubbed "Ladies' night" was prepared to test the five talented contestants on their singing abilities to nail songs from the year they were born as well as divas' songs.

Born in 1989, Candice Glover opened the first round with her jazzy version of 's classic "Straight Up". The cover left all judges in awe. could not help but praise her, "Baby, that was soooo good." When singing and 's "When You Believe" in the next round, Glover brought out strong performance that made Carey cry. "That. Is. How. You. Do. A. Mariah. Carey. Whitney. Houston. Song," said.

Same-aged with Glover, Janelle Arthur took the stage next with 's "When I Call Your Name". Unlike his fellow judges who called it "beautiful," "raw" and "real," Urban said that he did not "feel it." Arthur later tried to impress the country crooner by singing 's "Dumb Blonde". Sadly, he thought that she could choose other Parton songs that were way better for her vocal.

Kree Harrison then showed up to cover 's "She Talks to Angels" (1990). sang praise for her, saying, "I love your voice from note-one." Carey thought Harrison did not lose herself tonight, but Minaj begged to differ. As they got into a brief fight, Minaj ended up saying, "Simmer down, sir." Her nearly perfect version of 's "Have You Been in Love?" in the second round stole the judges' hearts. "You look very diva-esque," Carey praised.

For her first performance, Angie Miller sang a relatively famous song in 1994, "I'll Stand By You" by . Her ability to connect with the audience through her singing and piano left big impression on the judges. "This Top Five girls is some of the best Top Five we've ever had in a long, long time," Jackson said. Miller later mesmerized the judges again with her tribute to by singing "Halo". "Definitely top three," Urban concluded.

Last contestant Amber Holcomb tried to tackle Carey's version of "Without You" (1994). Though "it wasn't perfect" for Jackson, Carey rooted for her, saying, "Yes, yes, yes, vote for Amber!" Holcomb gave her all in her second performance with her version of 's "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" The judges gave a standing ovation for her. "Classic. Beautiful. Elegant," said Carey.
