Mandisa passed away at her home in Nashville. Her death was mourned by K-Love Chief Media Officer David Pierce, who praised her faith and vulnerability. Today, those struggles are over, and she is at peace with the God she sang about," he said.

Fellow "American Idol" alum Jennifer Hudson paid tribute on social media, calling Mandisa "a bright light" and a "woman of faith."

Mandisa's successful career spanned nearly two decades, during which she released five albums and a Christmas compilation. Her 2013 album "Overcomer" won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, showcasing her powerful vocals and inspiring lyrics.
