'Grimm' Will Return for Season 2

NBC has renewed the fantasy drama which has been a steady performer in its Friday slot.

AceShowbiz - "Grimm" has received the good news that it's picked up for a second season. NBC has renewed the fantasy procedural series, which centers on David Giuntoli's homicide detective character who has just learned that he's a descendent of a long line of hunters charged with stopping the proliferation of supernatural creatures in the world.

The show's writer Akela Cooper quickly took it to his Twitter page to announce the renewal. "Just heard the good news: #GRIMM IS GETTING A SECOND SEASON!!" he wrote on Friday, March 16. "Walk into the office this morning & our showrunners David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf tell me the good news: #Grimm is picked up 4 a second season!"

"Grimm" has been a solid performer for a Friday night program, averaging 4.8 million total viewers. Its most recent episode delivered 5.2 million total viewers and a 1.5 demo rating. The show is currently on a hiatus and will return on March 30.
