2011 Teen Choice Awards: 'Glee', 'Vampire Diaries' Win Big in TV Categories

'Glee' and 'The Vampire Diaries' are Choice Comedy Series and Fantasy/Sci-Fi Series respectively, while 'Gossip Girl' tops other drama shows.

AceShowbiz - "Glee" has affirmed itself as one of favorite shows for teenagers. The FOX musical series won in Choice TV Show: Comedy category at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards which took place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday, August 7. Among the cast members which grabbed the surfboard trophies were Cory Monteith and Darren Criss.

Also scoring multiple nods at the live telecast were "The Vampire Diaries" and "Gossip Girl", which came out as Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi and Choice TV Show: Drama respectively. "Diaries" hotties, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, as well as "GG" stars, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively, were additionally triumphant in actor/actress categories.

Selena Gomez, who walked home with not less than five trophies in overall categories, won one of them through her comedy show "Wizards of Waverly Place". Her boyfriend Justin Bieber also scored a nod for his small screen performance, being named Choice TV: Villain for his guest-starring appearance on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation".

"Jersey Shore" topped other reality series with DJ Pauly D being picked as Choice Male Reality/Variety Star. As for "Pretty Little Liars" which dominated the second wave of TV nominations, it won Choice Summer Show.

The annual Teen Choice Awards also presented the surfboard trophies for the winners in music, movie and non-traditional categories. This year's ceremony was hosted by "The Big Bang Theory" leading lady Kaley Cuoco with Jason Derulo and OneRepublic among the musical performers.
