AceShowbiz - Before the formal announcement is made, the pairings on "Dancing with the Stars" have leaked out either via the press or Twitter. The official announcement itself is scheduled to be read out on Monday, August 24 again on "Good Morning America".
Karina Smirnoff is going to train Aaron Carter this season while her real-life partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy gets actress Debi Mazar. Karina didn't get the chance to win the disco ball in previous seasons, only finishing second when she was partnered with Mario Lopez in season 3. Similarly, Maksim's best position in the show was the second place when he was partnered with Melanie Brown in season 5.
Mya, who is touted to be one of the tops because of her dancing background, gets Dmitry Chaplin who only joined in the eight season being partnered with Holly Madison. Ashley Hamilton, meanwhile, is to get the same dancing partner that his father George Hamilton competed with in season 2, Edyta Sliwinska.
Donny Osmond's son was responsible for leaking the fact that his father would be dancing with Kym Johnson. Don Osmond wrote on his Twitter, "Good luck on DWTS!!! You and Kym are going to win this season. You've got my vote every week! Love ya!" Also announcing via Twitter is swimmer Natalie Coughlin who wrote that she is Alec Mazo's partner. "We both went to Cal Berkeley and studied Psychology at the same time," she stated. "Go Bears!"
Another known pair is Tom DeLay and Cheryl Burke. In the history of the show, Burke has managed to lead two celebrities into their victories. In the second season she finished first while partnered with Drew Lachey and she earned a consecutive win in the following season by being partnered with Emmitt Smith.
"Dancing with the Stars" season 9 will begin Monday, September 21 at 8/7c on ABC.
