Marco Polo is a historical drama television series created by John Fusco for Netflix. The series premiered on December 12, 2014. The first season follows the early years of Marco Polo (Lorenzo Richelmy), an Italian merchant who traveled to the court of Kublai Khan (Benedict Wong) in the Mongol Empire. The second season, which premiered on July 1, 2016, continues Marco's adventures in the Mongol court and his increasing involvement in the politics and wars of the time.
