Embrace of the Serpent (Spanish: El abrazo de la serpiente) is a 2015 Colombian-Venezuelan-Argentinian historical drama film directed by Ciro Guerra and written by Guerra and Jacques Toulemonde Vidal. The film is based on the diaries of two scientists who traveled the Amazon rainforest in the early 20th century. The film stars Brionne Davis as Theo van der Hammen, Jan Bijvoet as Richard Evans Schultes, and Yauenkümigüa Francisca Coconuco as Karamakate.
