Embrace of the Serpent Clip 'I Can't Leave a Compass Here'

Embrace of the Serpent (Spanish: El abrazo de la serpiente, lit. 'The serpent's embrace') is a 2015 Colombian drama film directed by Ciro Guerra. The film is based on the diaries of two scientists, Theodor Koch-Grunberg and Richard Evans Schultes, who traveled through the Colombian Amazon rainforest in the early 20th century. The film stars Jan Bijvoet, Brionne Davis, and Nilbio Torres.

Embrace of the Serpent premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2015, where it won the Art Cinema Award. The film was also nominated for the Golden Lion and the Palme d'Or. The film was released in Colombia on September 3, 2015, and in the United States on April 15, 2016.
