Jenna sings and dances alone in her apartment on a Saturday night until her family interrupts, concerned for her social life. They think she needs to make some friends. Although resistant at first, Jenna realizes her family may be right.
The next day at the office, Jimmy brings in his friend Paul as a potential client with a big problem - Paul gave a stripper his grandmother's ring and needs it back. Jenna agrees to help after some investigation, only to determine within moments of Paul leaving that in actuality Jimmy gave their grandmother's ring to a stripper. Disgusted with her brother, Jenna aims to retrieve it at the strip club, but in order to find the stripper, Jimmy convinces Jenna to pretend she strips and to dress accordingly. Although this helps locate Ryan, the stripper with the ring, it also leads to Jenna performing an impromptu pole dance that ends with a thud when she slips to the ground and announces her true profession. Ryan admires her courage anyway and invites Jenna to coffee. Did Jenna just make a friend?
Turns out the answer is a defiant "no" - Jimmy shows Jenna proof that Ryan means to manipulate her, and the news sends Jenna on a mission to take her down and retrieve the ring. The perfect opportunity arises when she learns that Ceil and Sandy accepted a dance-off challenge during a mother-daughter hip-hop dance class. Sure, all the other mother-daughter teams consist of children and young mothers, not two adults, but Ceil and Sandy take the offer seriously.
Jenna brings Ryan to the competition, and while Ceil and Sandy show off their elaborate and intense choreography, Jenna manages to record a confession from Ryan that forces her to hand back the ring... and end their brief friendship. But Jenna's spirits recover when she witnesses her mom and sister win the first-place trophy, albeit at the expense of children. Hey, a win's a win, right?
