As they are eating take out Chinese food together, Lyndsey shocks Alan by breaking up with him. When he goes to her house later expecting the breakup to have blown over, Lyndsey reveals she is now seeing someone else. Walden catches Alan stalking Lyndsey outside of her house and Herb joins in on his lurking. Alan climbs a nearby tree in an attempt to get a peek at who she is dating, but he falls from the tree and injures himself. As Alan spirals into a deep depression, Berta tries giving him a pep talk to no avail. Walden brings Alan to Pavlov's to introduce him to Allie, the soon-to-be ex-wife of the man Lyndsey is now dating, and the two leave to have revenge sex together.
