Nathan gets frustrated with Carol's incessant ranting about things that annoy her, but quickly learns to appreciate it after he mimics one of her rants at work and gets his own segment to complain on the air. He tries to generate his own rants, but they lack the flair and fervor of Carol's rants, so he secretly devises ways to keep his mother irritated and stressed. His plan backfires when Carol's stress levels peak and cause her to black out, landing her in the hospital. Nathan tells her the truth about his new segment and she takes it surprisingly well, telling him that she's sure he has the ability to rant just as well as she does. Meanwhile, Adam gets stressed when Mikayla asks him to take her to her school's Father/Daughter Dance because he's a terrible dancer. Debbie tries to coach him and improve his dancing, but he's a lost cause. Later at the dance, Adam sees that Mikayla has inherited his awful dancing skills and worries that the other kids will make fun of her. She tells him that the school forbids kids from making fun of each other, which makes him loosen up enough to dance terribly with his daughter.
