WOUNDED JUDGE DENIES CONTENTION THAT HUSBAND TRIED TO KILL HER -- A fast-rising civil court judge (guest star Lindsay Crouse) is carjacked and gunned down in her garage, but as Detectives Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) begin to connect the dots, they consider the crime to be a botched murder-for-hire scheme -- and the primary suspect is her architect husband (guest star John Heard). While the suffering victim lingers near death and asks to be allowed to die without any more medical assistance, she steadfastly maintains her husband's innocence and threatens to testify on his behalf, which would ruin D.A. McCoy's (Sam Waterston) case.
