Lewis Fowler and Harrison "H" Locke are both ex-military private contract mercenaries who traffic in collateral damage. Their job is to fight fire with fire against international terrorists who kidnap U.S. citizens by hitting them where it hurts. Five months ago on a mission in Mexico City, Locke, an explosives expert, changes the original plan without telling Fowler, and takes out four floors of an apartment building killing seventeen people. When the authorities arrive, Fowler cuts a deal to go into witness protection by agreeing to testify against his partner. While in downtown Albuquerque, Lewis witnesses a building collapse. He rushes in to save the construction workers but gets trapped beneath rubble. As the media swarm the collapse site, the U.S. Marshals spring into action to save the severely injured Lewis. Further compounding the situation, national media coverage means that Lewis' identity could be blown if he ends up on camera. Mary runs in to free Lewis, only to discover that he has been impaled through the chest by a long metal pipe. Marshall and Stan have plenty to do on the ground as they try to secure the area against Lewis's former colleagues who want to prevent him from testifying. An equal threat to Lewis's security is a persistent reporter who clearly isn't going to take no for an answer. A juicy story like this is just the thing she needs to regain her credibility after a major gaffe, even if it means exposing the identity of a federal witness along with the U.S. Marshal attached to WITSEC who's protecting him out on that open ledge-meaning Mary. Meanwhile, Brandi leaves multiple messages for Peter-the guy who runs the A.A. meeting that Brandi went to posing as Jinx-in the hopes that he'll call her back so she can apologize. What's it going to take for him to forgive her?
