AceShowbiz - Founding member Al Jardine approached the rest of The Beach Boys - Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Bruce Johnston - to record the track "Don't Fight the Sea", which originally appeared on Jardine's 2010 solo album "A Postcard From California".

He tells Undercover.fm, "We felt that the song had a nice basic message of friendship. I also like the idea of that song, because the vocals are a bit under-appreciated. So this release was a perfect place to showcase the idea of harmony and friendship. Everybody is behind it 100 per cent, that's the nice part."

The first thousand copies of the single bought on Tuesday will be pressed on white vinyl with a red label - to symbolise the Japanese flag. And 90 of them will be signed by the bandmembers.

All proceeds from the charity single will benefit the Red Cross' Japanese relief efforts following the nation's devastating earthquake and tsunami last month.
