AceShowbiz - British singer Jamie Cullum has auctioned off a collection of his footwear to raise cash for the relief efforts in Japan. The pianist placed several pairs of sneakers on auction website eBay.com following the devastating earthquake and tsunami in the country - and after raising $2,355 in the sale, Cullum donated some of his own money to boost the funds.

In a post on his Twitter.com page before the auction he wrote, "Hey gang. I'm auctioning off some of my most important bits of footwear 2 help raise money 4 the Japanese relief effort," before announcing, "My trainers (sneakers) raised GBP1,472! I'm going 2 round it up to GBP3,000 and send it with love 2 the Japanese relief effort from us all. Ok, pants next..."

Cullum isn't the only celebrity that helps the relief and recovery effort in Japan after the country was struck with a devastating earthquake and tsunami in March. Sandra Bullock and Gwen Stefani have each donated $1 million, while Josh Duhamel teamed up with the American Red Cross to raise $150,000 with "Youth Run 4 Japan" fundraiser on Santa Monica Beach.
