AceShowbiz - Rihanna is facing legal action from famed fashion photographer David Lachapelle amid allegations her risky new video for S&M was "directly derived" from images he'd taken. The R&B beauty's sexually-charged single has already sparked controversy for its suggestive lyrics about sex, whips and chains, and its accompanying video, which features the singer sucking on a banana and tying a man to a bed, has been banned in 11 countries across the world.

And the promo has hit headlines again this week after court documents revealed Rihanna is being sued by LaChapelle for reportedly copying his eight of his works, including a shot in which she poses against a blue background with a piece of candy on her tongue. The lawsuit, made public on Monday, February 14, states, "The music video is directly derived from and substantially similar to the LaChapelle works."

The papers go on to accuse the "Umbrella" hitmaker of copying the "composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting" of his pictures in her promo, which was directed by Melina Matsoukas. LaChapelle, who has worked for top publications Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair and GQ, is demanding unspecified damages.
