AceShowbiz - Lawyers representing the guardians of Courtney Love's daughter have filed a court request to seal legal documents relating "to a minor and allegations of domestic violence". Seventeen-year-old Frances Bean Cobain, whose father is the late Kurt Cobain, was placed under the temporary guardianship of her paternal grandmother, Wendy O'Connor, and her aunt, Kimberly Dawn Cobain, earlier this month after requesting to live with her relatives.
Love, who bitterly disapproved of her daughter's decision to move, was subsequently slapped with a temporary restraining order banning all contact with Frances - just days after losing legal control of her child. Reports speculated Love lost custody due to a drug relapse, but her lawyer has insisted she is completely "clean".
Now court papers filed in the Superior Court of the State of California on Monday, December 21, and obtained by TMZ.com, hint Frances was the victim of domestic violence, although names and details have not been specified. The attorneys want a judge to seal the teenager's medical records, adding, "In this proceeding, every document reveals details of Frances's (sic) relationship with her mother."
A hearing has been set for January 22, 2010. A separate court date to determine whether the restraining order will be made permanent is set for January 5.
