AceShowbiz - The Sentinels, an animated psychological horror series created by bestselling horror author and psychologist Ajinkya Bhasme, has premiered on YouTube. The opening presentation combines the first three episodes into one continuous cut and is streaming free on the platform.
The series is directed by Nitin Burli and Sree Lakshmi. It is set in the Andaman Sea during Christmas 2004, moments before the catastrophic Indian Ocean tsunami strikes. An illicit ferry strands a group of strangers off North Sentinel Island, where the captain gives them two absolute rules: never light a fire, and never touch anything on the island.
When a passenger breaks protocol, their ship is destroyed. The survivors are left trapped between an uncontacted jungle, a lethal red mist, and an ancient presence that physically manifests their deepest buried trauma.
Bhasme, a practicing psychologist, built the narrative around suppressed guilt and trauma projection, making the horror deeply cerebral rather than relying on cheap jump scares. The visual style combines hand-crafted watercolor backgrounds with textured, oil-painted fire effects and sharp character linework instead of sterile digital animation.
Studio Jadu, backed by Khosla Ventures, produced the series using its AIDA production workbench. A team of nine human artists directly handled character performance, layout, and art direction to keep the vision human-led. Studio Jadu founder Masoud Loghmani is part of the creative team behind the project.
The entire three-episode premiere block is available to watch on YouTube without a paywall. A trailer for the series has been released, offering a look at the show's distinctive visual style and ominous setting.
