AceShowbiz - VCI Entertainment has announced the global Blu-ray debut of Northville Cemetery Massacre: Special 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition, set for release on Blu-ray and DVD on December 15. The 1970s outlaw biker film arrives with a brand-new 4K restoration from the best available film elements and is presented in widescreen on home video for the first time.
The collector's edition also includes the never-before-seen Director's Cut, featuring more than 7 minutes of restored footage. The film stars David Hyry as Chris, Jan Sisk as Lynn and Craig Collicott as Deputy Puttnam. Co-directors Tom Van Dyke and William Dear direct the mayhem, and members of Detroit's Scorpions MC appear in the film.
The plot centers on the Spirits Motorcycle Club, who attend a wedding at a farm where Chris joins the gang to provide refreshments for the afterparty. Cops raid the nuptials, and the bikers are arrested under the helmet law. In court, the judge hands down an unorthodox sentence, and Chris has a fling with Lynn. Deputy Puttnam then assaults Lynn, and the rogue deputy and Lynn's father team up with concerned citizens to rid the town of the bikers. The film features ammo, blood and gruesome special effects.
The release marks the first time the film is presented in widescreen on home video, and the 4K restoration is sourced from the best available film elements. The Director's Cut adds over 7 minutes of restored footage not previously seen.
