AceShowbiz - Hacks is finally coming home. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that Hacks: The Complete Series will be released on Blu-ray for the first time on December 8, 2026, collecting all five seasons of the Emmy-winning comedy along with more than four hours of bonus features.
The 10-disc set carries a total run time of 25 hours and 58 minutes and is presented in 16:9 1.78:1 aspect ratio with English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and English SDH subtitles. The collection is rated Not Rated.
The bonus features include deleted scenes, Inside the Episodes, Bit by Bits, bloopers, a Hannah Einbinder screen test, a table read of the episode "Bang Bang Chicken," a finale table read and a wrap clip.
The release arrives on the heels of the show's fifth and final season, which received a record-breaking 25 Emmy nominations, the most ever for a comedy series in a single year. Across its five-season run, Hacks earned 89 total Emmy nominations, including a season three win for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Season 5 most recently won two Primetime Emmy Awards, among them an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series win for Jean Smart. It was her eighth career Emmy and her fifth for Hacks. With the achievement, Smart became the first female performer to win an Emmy for every season of a show and tied the record for the most Emmy Awards won by a performer.
The series stars Smart and Einbinder as legendary comedian Deborah Vance and rising comedy writer Ava Daniels, whose complicated creative partnership continues to evolve in unexpected ways. The ensemble cast also includes Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, Robby Hoffman, Christopher McDonald, Kaitlin Olson and Helen Hunt.
Hacks was created by Lucia Aniello, Jen Statsky and Downs, who also serve as showrunners. The series is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, Morgan Sackett, Joe Mande, Aisha Muharrar, Nate Young and Ashley Glazier. The studio is Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
