AceShowbiz - Dave Wilbert has released his new six-song EP, The Good News, on Friday, September 18 via Willbilly Records and Symphonic.

The EP was included as one of Saving Country Music's Most Anticipated Country Albums of 2026. It is a collection of traditional country songs that draw on the timeless storytelling of love, faith, farm life, summer nights and second chances, with the enduring sound of '90s country that Wilbert has crafted his reputation on.

Featuring two songs co-written by Wilbert — including his recent singles All Summer Long and the farming-inspired The Corn — The Good News brings together a diverse group of Nashville songwriters and producers while maintaining a cohesive musical identity rooted in '90s-style country.

"The Good News is really about the kind of country music I love — the songs that tell a story, make you feel something and stay with you after the song is over," Wilbert said. "These six songs cover a lot of ground, from love and summer memories to farming, loneliness and second chances, but they all have one thing in common: they're honest. I'm proud of the songs we chose, the people who helped bring them to life, and especially the opportunity to share this music with people who still believe in the heart of country music."

The EP opens with All Summer Long, co-written by Wilbert and Troy Clampitt. The song was previously featured on Amazon Music's Break Through Country and Apple Music's New In Country editorial playlists. It is followed by Let's Call It What It Is, written by Patrick Jason Matthews and Roxie Dean.

Wilbert turns his attention to rural America on The Corn, co-written with Kevin Barton. The song's lyric video premiered by RFD-TV in August, and was inspired by the sight of an abandoned farm, reflecting on the disappearance of family farms and the generations of hard work left behind.

The EP continues with Alone With You, written by Kerry Kurt Phillips and Ron Williams; Footprints On The Moon, written by Barton, Ryan Bizarri and Dee Briggs; and an acoustic version of If You Ever Feel Like Loving Me Again, written by Jeff Stevens, Jerry Kilgore and Steve Bogard. Originally featured on Wilbert's debut album, the latter has become one of his most-streamed songs with more than 2.5 million streams, making its stripped-down acoustic treatment a fitting addition to The Good News.

Recorded at The Freeway Studio, The Good News was co-produced by Wilbert alongside Nashville producers Lonnie Wilson, Julian King and the late Eddie Blount, Wilbert's former manager, co-producer and friend, who passed away in 2025.

"I am excited about my new EP because it's my first project where I have been solely responsible for the entire creative process," Wilbert said. "I'm also dedicating this EP to my late friend, manager, and co-producer Eddie Blount, who'd always start a conversation off with 'The Good News.' This is my way of carrying forward his legacy by offering The Good News to country music fans everywhere."
