Stanza Media will release 'Roy Orbison Forever' on DVD and digital video on October 9, featuring rare performances and interviews with Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, Bono and more.

AceShowbiz - Stanza Media has announced that Roy Orbison Forever, a documentary celebrating the life and career of Roy Orbison, will arrive on DVD and digital video on October 9.
The film traces the five-time Grammy-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Famer from his earliest days in a Memphis recording studio through to his final sessions with the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys. It combines interviews and archive performances, some of which have never been seen before in America.
The documentary follows Orbison's discovery in Texas by Johnny Cash, his sell-out international tour with newcomers The Beatles as a support band, and his later collaboration with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne as The Traveling Wilburys. The film also covers his work on The End of the Line.
Among those interviewed for the documentary are Cash, Barbara Orbison, Olivia Harrison, Petty, Lynne, Joe Walsh, David Lynch, Bernie Taupin, Gerry Marsden, Elvis Costello, Robin Gibb, Bono and Bill Wyman.
The film's soundtrack features many of Orbison's best-known recordings, including Oh, Pretty Woman, It's Over, Blue Bayou, In Dreams, Crying, Dream Baby, Ooby Dooby, Only the Lonely and You Got It, as well as his Traveling Wilburys tracks Handle With Care and The End of the Line.
According to the announcement, the documentary was assembled from interviews collected for the film over several years, alongside extraordinary insight from major musicians into what made Orbison's music a lasting cultural force. The story begins with his first time in a Memphis recording studio and takes viewers inside his last studio with The Traveling Wilburys.
