AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. has released three new clips from the upcoming DC Universe film Supergirl, unveiling the first on-screen meeting between Kara Zor-El and Superman. The footage highlights the dynamic between the two cousins as Kara arrives on Earth and begins to discover her powers.
One clip shows Milly Alcock’s Kara landing on Earth with her loyal companion Krypto, who is wary of Superman despite no clear threat. David Corenswet’s Superman greets Kara, but their initial exchange is strained by a language barrier—Kara speaks Kryptonian, which Superman has yet to learn. As they walk toward the Fortress of Solitude, Superman reassures Kara that her abilities will soon develop. Kara lightheartedly questions Superman’s unique costume, prompting him to explain his choice of attire. Another clip introduces Jason Momoa as Lobo, depicted searching for someone in a bar and described as an immortal with a god complex who destroyed his own planet. The third clip expands the scope of Kara’s mission, showcasing various alien worlds and characters she will encounter.
Milly Alcock has shared that she connects deeply with Kara’s internal struggles and the universal pain the character experiences, emphasizing the emotional journey that lies ahead.
The film, directed by Craig Gillespie with a screenplay by Ana Nogueira, features a star-studded cast including Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham alongside Momoa, Alcock, and Corenswet. Set to arrive in theaters on June 26, 2026, Supergirl is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and blends action and superhero elements inspired stylistically by the Woman of Tomorrow comic by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.
This new footage not only cements Kara’s place within the DC Universe but also introduces key relationships and characters shaping her story. The portrayal of her first encounter with Superman adds important emotional depth, setting up her transition from Krypton survivor to a heroic figure navigating a vast, complex cosmos.
