After a four-year hiatus during which the members fulfilled their mandatory military service, BTS made a triumphant return in March with the release of their 10th album, ARIRANG, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. They launched their first major tour since 2022 on April 9 with a series of concerts at Goyang Stadium in South Korea.
The ongoing tour comprises 85 shows across 34 cities, making it the largest tour ever undertaken by a Korean artist. The Busan live cinema event will be the third live broadcast from the ARIRANG tour, following previous screenings from Goyang and Tokyo. It also marks BTS' first full-group performance at Busan Stadium since their last show there in 2022.
Recently, BTS performed three shows at Stanford Stadium in California over the past weekend and on May 19. Their tour continues with multiple dates at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas scheduled for May 23, 24, 27, and 28.
In addition to their live tour schedule, BTS will make a special appearance at the 52nd American Music Awards on May 25. This will be their first awards show appearance in four years. They are nominated in three categories, including Artist of the Year (a title they won in 2021), Song of the Summer for "Swim," and Best K-pop Artist, which they secured in 2022.
This return to both live performances and major music events underscores the group's enduring global influence and the excitement surrounding their comeback. Fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the cinematic experience that will bring the energy and spectacle of BTS' Busan concerts to theaters near them.
With the live cinema event coinciding with their anniversary and following a landmark album release and tour, BTS is reaffirming their position at the forefront of the international music scene. The upcoming screenings promise to deliver an immersive experience celebrating the group's remarkable journey and connection with their global fanbase.
