AceShowbiz - On Friday, Drake dropped his new album Iceman, along with two surprise releases, Habibti and Maid Of Honour. Fans worldwide have been buzzing about this unexpected triple release, including members of BTS, who were caught off guard by a special shoutout on the album’s opening track, "Make Them Cry."
The moment that stunned BTS came from V and J-Hope, who shared their reaction on Instagram Stories. In a video posted by a fan on YouTube, the pair can be seen nodding their heads to the beat, wearing hats, as they listen intently. When Drake raps the line, "I'm feeling like BTS 'cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered," V and J-Hope suddenly pause, exchanging looks of disbelief and surprise.
This acknowledgment is not the first intersection between BTS and Drake. Back in 2018, Drake incorporated J-Hope’s viral rendition of the "In My Feelings" challenge in an official music video. Additionally, in a 2019 Rolling Stone interview, J-Hope expressed admiration for Drake, naming him as a dream collaborator. RM backed him up by recalling their meeting at the Grammys and inviting Drake to connect with their label.
Recently, BTS returned with their album Arirang, which they extensively discussed in Rolling Stone, with each member featured in individual cover stories. Their world tour is set to continue with a three-night stint at Stanford, California, beginning Saturday, marking another milestone in their global success.
The surprise release of Drake's album Iceman alongside two additional projects has only amplified excitement among fans and artists alike. The unexpected BTS shoutout has added an extra layer of buzz, highlighting the mutual respect between these global music icons.
