Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce may face a Valentine’s Day conflict: Super Bowl LXI lands on Feb. 14, 2027—if the Chiefs recover and the couple marries first.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could encounter a scheduling conflict for their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, as Super Bowl LXI is set for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Before that can happen, however, two major events need to unfold: the Kansas City Chiefs must recover from a challenging 2025-2026 NFL season to secure their spot in the Super Bowl, and Swift and Kelce must officially wed. The couple, who got engaged in August 2025, have not yet shared any details regarding their wedding date, though speculation suggests a summer ceremony.
On the May 20 episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce expressed surprise that the Super Bowl will coincide with Valentine’s Day, marking a rare overlap between the NFL’s biggest event and the romantic holiday. "I don't think I could ever remember it being that late in February," the 36-year-old tight end remarked after the NFL revealed the dates and locations for upcoming Super Bowls.
Kelce’s brother Jason also recalled previous occasions when Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl were close, noting it was considered “big news” for men to have to choose between watching the game and spending time with their partners.
Historically, the Super Bowl was played in January for its first 35 years. Since 2002, it has gradually shifted into February, occasionally edging closer to mid-month. For example, in 2022, the game was held on February 13, just one day shy of Valentine’s Day.
While the February 14 Super Bowl could disrupt Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romantic plans, there is still uncertainty if they will be married by then. Even if they have tied the knot, the Chiefs face an uphill battle to reach the championship game.
The 2025 season was a difficult one for Kelce, marking one of his statistically weakest years as a professional tight end. Compounding challenges for the Chiefs was quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ serious injury—a torn ACL and LCL suffered during a December 14 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mahomes underwent surgery the following day and is reportedly on track for a return next season, but whether he will be ready to start remains unclear.
Despite the setbacks, Swift has been a steadfast supporter of Kelce during the playoffs, cheering him on through the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in 2024 and their loss in 2025 to the Philadelphia Eagles, the former team of Jason Kelce.
Looking ahead, the Chiefs’ schedule includes a Thanksgiving matchup against the Buffalo Bills in November, but they are not slated to play on Christmas Day, offering a small reprieve for the couple during the holiday season.
While the potential clash between Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl presents a unique challenge for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, much depends on the Chiefs’ performance and the timing of their wedding. For now, fans can watch the couple navigate these scheduling hurdles, with Kelce openly discussing the situation on his podcast.
