AceShowbiz - The latest Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart, released on May 13, sees Snow Man's hit single BANG!! rise to the coveted No. 1 position, marking a significant achievement for the group.
The song, which serves as the theme for the movie SAKAMOTO DAYS starring member Ren Meguro, had previously charted at No. 2 on the May 6 chart. During that week, BANG!! led sales with an impressive 932,321 CD copies sold. This week, the track sold 42,153 copies, securing the No. 3 spot in sales. Additionally, it claimed No. 1 in downloads, ranked No. 30 in streaming, No. 40 in radio airplay, and reached No. 2 in video views, contributing to its overall top ranking on the Hot 100.
Following closely behind at No. 2 is BE:FIRST with their single BE:FIRST ALL DAY, which soared up from No. 41. The song is the leading track from their ninth single released on May 6. It sold 86,575 copies this week, earning the No. 2 sales position. The track also placed No. 6 in downloads, No. 23 in streaming, No. 38 in radio airplay, and No. 10 in video views. Another song from the same single, Rondo, also made an appearance on the chart at No. 14 this week.
Meanwhile, DOMOTO's "Mata Ne" debuted strongly at No. 3, selling 158,544 copies and leading the sales category for that position, while ranking No. 2 in downloads.
In other chart developments, Motoki Ohmori's Moyooshi climbed from No. 13 to No. 8, marking his first top 10 entry. Video views for the theme song of NTV's News Zero surged by 443% week-over-week, with radio airplay increasing by an impressive 1,153%. Sakanaction’s 2012 single Yoru no Odoriko also cracked the top 10 for the first time, boosted by its viral popularity in Japan and internationally since March. The song charted at No. 13 for downloads, No. 5 for streaming, No. 35 for radio airplay, and No. 13 for video views.
