AceShowbiz - Cardi B is celebrating a significant legal win following a federal court ruling against blogger Tasha K. A judge found Tasha K in civil contempt for violating a non-disparagement agreement tied to her bankruptcy reorganization plan.
The court order, filed on Tuesday, concluded that Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, repeatedly breached the agreement by posting and broadcasting disparaging comments about Cardi B and her family. The plan explicitly barred her from sharing any "derogatory, disparaging, or defamatory statements" on platforms including social media accounts, podcasts, and other public channels.
The judge identified multiple instances where Tasha K violated the terms across a variety of platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and during radio appearances. Despite acknowledging she made the statements referenced in the motion, Tasha K claimed she retained the right to make such comments. The court rejected this argument and ordered strict compliance with the existing agreement.
The order also extended protections to Cardi B's estranged husband, Offset, as well as NFL star Stefon Diggs, naming them as parties shielded from defamatory remarks under the court’s directive. As part of the ruling, Tasha K must remove all prohibited content and cease making any further disparaging statements.
In addition to compelling content removal, the court awarded Cardi B attorneys’ fees and costs related to enforcing the agreement. Furthermore, the judge sanctioned Tasha K’s lawyer, Chad Van Horn, due to citation issues raised during the proceedings.
This latest courtroom victory reinforces the legal boundaries set to protect Cardi B and her associates from defamatory attacks, underscoring the consequences of violating court-approved agreements.
