AceShowbiz - The Olivia Rodrigo kicked off a spectacular event coinciding with El Clásico, treating her most dedicated fans to an unforgettable concert featuring her biggest streaming hits.
Set on the scenic slope of Montjuïc mountain, Barcelona’s Teatre Grec was transformed into the exclusive venue for Rodrigo’s Spotify Billions Club Live show. Guests arrived to a stunning open-air amphitheater that echoed Ancient Greek architectural charm, surrounded by lush greenery designed to celebrate Rodrigo’s monumental achievements on Spotify as well as her new collaboration with FC Barcelona ahead of the highly anticipated football match.
Outside the amphitheater, fans enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere with merch stands showcasing the special football partnership, complimentary food and drinks, and a unique photo opportunity featuring all nine of Rodrigo’s Spotify Billions Club plaques, underscoring her remarkable streaming success.
The concert itself radiated energy from start to finish. Following in the footsteps of artists like Bad Bunny and Miley Cyrus, Rodrigo performed nearly every song from her discography that has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, along with a few additional fan favorites. The free event was an intimate gathering, reserved for approximately 1,500 of her most loyal fans, who were selected based on their listening habits on the streaming platform, according to an official press release.
This celebration took place just two days before the fierce rivals FC Barcelona and Real Madrid face off at the recently renovated Spotify Camp Nou stadium, where FC Barcelona could clinch the league title with a victory. Adding to the excitement, the FCB players will don a custom version of their iconic blaugrana jersey, featuring Rodrigo’s logo in place of Spotify’s usual branding.
Though Rodrigo rose to fame only about five years ago, this event marked a well-earned milestone in her career. The pop star delivered an electrifying performance, and the crowd responded with equal enthusiasm.
A standout moment from the night was how Rodrigo opened and closed her set with powerful tracks from her sophomore album. She kicked off the concert with “Bad Idea Right,” the album’s second single, which brought a rock-infused energy that had both the crowd and Rodrigo herself jumping along, accompanied by her signature all-female band. The atmosphere stayed vibrant throughout her 15-song set, concluding with “Get Him Back!” where the audience clapped in unison to close the show on a high note. Though neither of these songs are part of the Billions Club, they perfectly honored the era that solidified her status in pop music.
