AceShowbiz - Noah Kahan has secured the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart for the second time, this time with his new single "Doors," which debuted at the top on the chart dated May 9.
For the tracking week ending April 30, "Doors," released on April 24 as part of Kahan's album The Great Divide, amassed 17.9 million chart-eligible streams, reached 135,000 in radio audience, and sold 1,000 copies in the United States, according to Luminate data.
Earlier, Kahan had led the chart with the album's title track for a week when it debuted in February. At the same time, "The Great Divide" itself held the No. 2 position with 15 million streams, 13.9 million radio audience impressions, and 1,000 copies sold.
Kahan is currently dominating the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart by holding the top four positions with tracks from The Great Divide. This achievement marks him as the third artist to claim the top four spots simultaneously since the chart's inception in 2009, joining Zach Bryan, who held the top eight in September 2023, and Imagine Dragons, who took the top four in August 2018.
Meanwhile, The Great Divide debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking Kahan's first number one album. It also topped the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart with 389,000 equivalent album units, making it the rock album with the highest weekly total since the current measurement methodology started in 2014. This is Kahan's second No. 1 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, as The Great Divide displaced 2022's Stick Season, which had spent 32 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 since June 2023. The latter now ranks at No. 2 with 38,000 units.
All 21 tracks from The Great Divide have entered the top 30 of the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, with "A Few of Your Own" positioned at No. 30. This feat is the highest number of simultaneous top 30 entries by any artist, surpassing Zach Bryan's 19 entries in January and Linkin Park's 19 entries in 2017.
In addition, "Doors" debuted at No. 9 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, becoming Kahan's third top 10 hit after "The Great Divide," which reached No. 6 in February, and "Stick Season," which peaked at No. 9 earlier in 2024. Impressively, all 21 songs from The Great Divide entered the Hot 100, including 12 tracks in the top 40.
