AceShowbiz - Linda Perry, the iconic lead singer of 4 Non Blondes, is set to receive a distinguished songwriting honor at the upcoming Ivor Novello Awards ceremony in London.

Linda Perry will be awarded the special international songwriter prize, recognizing her influential contributions both as the frontwoman of 4 Non Blondes and as a prolific songwriter for numerous renowned artists.

Throughout her career, Perry has penned significant hits, including the 4 Non Blondes’ track "What's Going On?," which reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. She also wrote Christina Aguilera's celebrated song "Beautiful," Gwen Stefani's "What You Waiting For?," and P!nk's "Get the Party Started." Beyond these, her collaborations extend to powerhouse singers such as Adele, Ariana Grande, and Celine Dion.

The award will be presented at a ceremony held on May 21 at London’s Grosvenor Hotel. The most recent recipient of this prize was Brandon Flowers, lead vocalist of The Killers, with the legendary Bruce Springsteen having presented the award during that event.

Speaking about the honor, Perry expressed humility and excitement, stating, "It's an honor to be recognized for my songwriting contributions at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards. So many incredible artists have been celebrated, and I am humbled to be standing alongside them."

The Ivor Novello Awards are held annually to celebrate excellence in songwriting and composing, honoring both U.K.-based and international talents. Winners are selected by a panel composed of songwriters and composers from the Ivors Academy membership.

In addition to Perry, the academy recently announced that Rosalía will receive the international songwriter of the year award for her 2025 album LUX. This album showcases the Catalan artist’s versatility, featuring songs performed in 13 languages and blending classical with pop music elements.

Nominations for the Ivor Novello Awards were revealed in March, highlighting artists such as Olivia Dean, Lily Allen, Kae Tempest, and Wolf Alice as leading contenders.

Throughout her career, Perry has earned five Grammy nominations, three of which have been in songwriting categories. She has twice been nominated for Song of the Year: once for writing Aguilera's "Beautiful" and once for co-writing the Alicia Keys and Brandi Carlile collaboration "A Beautiful Noise." Additionally, she received a nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media for co-writing Dolly Parton's "Girl in the Movies."

This upcoming accolade from the Ivors Academy will further cement Perry's legacy as one of the most influential songwriters in contemporary music.
