AceShowbiz - Katie Maloney and Stassi Schroeder are set to share fresh insights into their evolving lives and friendship in their upcoming Hulu series, House of Stassi. During the May 4 episode of the "Humble Brag" podcast, Katie Maloney, 40, explained that the show will pick up from where their current lives stand, focusing on the people around them and the changes they’ve experienced.
Katie highlighted that much of Stassi Schroeder’s storyline will revolve around her family life, incorporating scenes with her husband, Beau Clark, and their two children, Hartford, age 5, and Messer, age 2. The series will also feature her close friends as well as Katie herself.
Addressing their past tensions, Katie revealed that she and Stassi, 37, once had a falling out that remains largely unknown to the public. Despite this, the new show will chronicle their journey toward rebuilding their friendship.
“This is really going to be documenting our road back to friendship in this phase of life, which is very different,” Katie teased. She explained that their lives are currently on very different paths: Stassi is married with two children, while Katie is divorced and dating someone new.
Katie, who was married to Vanderpump Rules costar Tom Schwartz from 2019 until their 2022 divorce after more than a decade together, described the show as “really wonderful” because of its raw and genuine portrayal of long-term friendships.
“There’s something really beautiful about friendships that span from your 20s into your 40s now,” she said. “We’re just different people but we can still have love and appreciation. It’s about navigating that.”
Fans of Vanderpump Rules might recall the close bond Katie and Stassi shared after the series premiered in 2013, although their relationship became more complicated following Stassi’s firing from the show in 2020. Rumors of a feud grew as the two were seen together less frequently, but both women have addressed those speculations publicly.
In 2024, Stassi Schroeder commented on TikTok to refute feud rumors, stating, “I’m not on Vanderpump Rules. I’m not on any team. That’s not my life anymore. I have individual friendships with people. Friendships ebb & flow without it being nefarious.”
Katie Maloney also weighed in during an appearance on the "Off the Vine" podcast that same year, acknowledging their busy lives with children but expressing hope they would spend more time together once life settles down.
“Yeah, I mean, Stassi, OK, she’s got two kids now,” Katie said. “While I wish we spent more time together — I think you’re in a similar position where it’s like, you’re friends that have kids — so I think maybe once life balances out a little bit, we can spend some time together.”
Earlier rumors about their fallout were confirmed by Stassi herself during an April 27 interview with Marie Claire, where she revealed that their falling out had lasted for years but that they are now rebuilding their friendship after growing apart in different directions.
Katie Maloney expressed excitement about the upcoming Hulu show, stating on the "Humble Brag" podcast that it “feels like it has a different life to it” and shares a more authentic look at their current relationship.
The series is centered on documenting the natural conflicts and challenges that arise when friends evolve separately, emphasizing honest communication and resolution rather than manufactured drama.
“It’s not like Vanderpump Rules, where sometimes the cast would want to ‘f*** s*** up’ and create conflict,” Katie joked. “This show’s trajectory was more focused on both women really wanting to speak your mind and put it out on the table and then hopefully have resolve at the end of the day.”
Production for House of Stassi is underway, with Stassi Schroeder recently spotted filming alongside Katie Maloney in West Hollywood at The Belmont on November 1, as reported by TMZ. The show is set to premiere on Hulu on Wednesday, July 29.
As the two women navigate the complexities of rekindling their friendship while balancing family and personal growth, fans will have a front-row seat to the realities of evolving relationships beyond reality TV fame.
Katie Maloney and Stassi Schroeder’s story in House of Stassi promises to offer a heartfelt and candid glimpse into their lives, the challenges of maintaining long-term friendships, and the beauty of reconnecting after time apart.
