AceShowbiz - Connor Storrie, star of the series Heated Rivalry, made a special appearance on Saturday Night Live on May 2 to introduce host and musical guest Olivia Rodrigo before she performed a brand-new, unreleased song titled "Begged."

The 26-year-old actor, dressed in a denim-on-denim outfit, received applause from the live audience as he welcomed Rodrigo to the stage. This episode marked Olivia’s hosting and musical guest debut for the season, while it was also Storrie’s first time introducing a performance since his own SNL hosting debut earlier this year on February 28.

During the performance, Rodrigo sat on a swing as she sang the fresh track, which is set to be part of her upcoming third studio album, You seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The song opens with the poignant lines: "All that I want is to know undoubtedly that you just have eyes for me," followed by, "All that I want is to sit here silently and watch movies on TV."

Earlier in the same episode, the three-time Grammy Award winner also performed another new track titled "Drop Dead," which was introduced by a glittering guest appearance from Debbie Harry. Both songs are featured on Rodrigo's new album scheduled to release on June 12.

Although Connor Storrie did not participate in any of the sketches during the episode, his appearance alongside Rodrigo was notable as both made their first SNL hosting appearances during season 51.

The show follows two rival players — Canada-born Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) of the Montreal Metros and Russia-born Ilya Rozanov ([strong]Storrie[/strong]) of the Boston Raiders — as they navigate a complex situationship that evolves into a relationship over nearly a decade. The series has been pivotal in launching the careers of both actors.

Since the show's premiere, Storrie and Williams have gained significant visibility, appearing as presenters at the Golden Globes, serving as torchbearers during the 2026 Olympic Torch Relay, and booking new acting roles following Heated Rivalry. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Storrie was in talks to join the cast of the A24 comedy Peaked, starring Molly Gordon and written by SNL writer Allie Levitan, with filming reportedly wrapped recently.

Early into its first season, Crave renewed Heated Rivalry for a second season, with HBO Max confirming it will continue airing the series. Production for the second season is slated to begin in August, aiming for a spring 2027 release. Jacob Tierney shared this timeline during a recent television appearance. Bell Media and Crave confirmed the plans in an official statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to the series, Rachel Reid announced earlier this year that she will release her seventh book in the Game Changers series, which includes Heated Rivalry and its sequel The Long Game. The new novel, titled Unrivaled, will continue the story of Shane and Ilya. Reid recently announced that the book’s release has been postponed to 2027.
