Deadline has revealed that an unauthorized musical parody of Heated Rivalry will open at New York’s 6th Floor Theater. Previews for the Off-Broadway production begin on Tuesday, May 12, with the official opening night slated for May 26. This parody diverges from the original series’ cast, with Jay Armstrong Johnson and Jimin Moon stepping into the roles inspired by the original leads Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander. Johnson is recognized for his work in Broadway’s Parade and the North American tour of Moulin Rouge. Moon’s Broadway credits include Sunset Boulevard and Aladdin. The musical’s storyline humorously centers on a group of Broadway actors who mistakenly believe they are auditioning for the second season of Heated Rivalry.
