AceShowbiz - Prime Video's upcoming series adaptation of the video game God of War has expanded its cast by adding four new actors. Louis Cunningham, known for Marie Antoinette, and Island Austin, recognized from Insidious 6, have been confirmed as series regulars. Joining them in recurring roles are Ben Chapple from Good Cop Bad Cop and Evelyn Miller of Foundation.
This television adaptation is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, based on the popular PlayStation game rooted in ancient mythology. The series is developed by Ronald D. Moore, who serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer, known for his work on titles like Outlander and For All Mankind.
God of War centers on the journey of father and son, Kratos (portrayed by Ryan Hurst) and his 10-year-old son Atreus (Callum Vinson). Their quest is to spread the ashes of their late wife and mother, Faye. Throughout their adventure, Kratos strives to teach Atreus how to be a better god, while Atreus attempts to guide his father toward becoming a better human being.
The addition of Cunningham, Austin, Chapple, and Miller strengthens the ensemble cast as the series moves forward in production. Fans of the game and mythology-based storytelling alike are anticipating how this adaptation will bring the iconic characters and rich narrative to life on screen.
