Foo Fighters drop 12th album Your Favorite Toy, with gritty new tracks, a live SNL UK debut, and the Take Cover Tour kicking off.
- April 24, 2026
AceShowbiz - The iconic rock group Foo Fighters have unveiled their twelfth studio album, Your Favorite Toy, marking another milestone for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Known for their energetic sound, the band delivers a record full of gritty rock tunes that embody their signature style.
The album opens with a punchy vibe, featuring tracks like "Caught In The Echo," the title song "Your Favorite Toy," and "All of the People," which Foo Fighters recently performed live at the intimate 80-seat St James Church in Dingle, Ireland. This intimate setting showcased the band's raw and authentic energy, capturing the essence of the new release.
To support the album, Foo Fighters will appear on Saturday Night Live UK airing on Sky One on April 25, where they will debut the official music video for "Window," directed by Jake Erland. This release coincides with the kickoff of their Take Cover Tour, promising fans an electrifying live experience. Prior to the launch, the band teased the album on their website with a nostalgic interactive landing page featuring snippets embedded in studio and stage images, inviting fans into the creative process.
In an interview with Classic Rock, frontman Dave Grohl described Your Favorite Toy as "the most fun we've had making a record in years," emphasizing the band's carefree approach. They recorded the ten-track, 36-minute album with "no rules, no pressure," focusing purely on the joy of crafting music. The result is a record that is "loud, melodic, and weird in places," yet unmistakably Foo Fighters, alive with energy and spirit.
Recorded at home and co-produced by the band along with Oliver Roman (known for his work with The Cribs and Wolfmother), the album also marks the debut of new drummer Ilan Rubin. Rubin replaced Josh Freese, who had temporarily filled in for the late Taylor Hawkins over the past two years before parting ways with the band in May last year.
Your Favorite Toy follows the 2023 album But Here We Are, which reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. This latest release adds to Foo Fighters' impressive record of ten top-tier Billboard 200 entries, including two number-one albums: 2011’s Wasting Light and 2017’s Concrete And Gold.
The band's upcoming world tour begins with several U.S. dates, starting April 28 with a sold-out show at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Following this, they will embark on a European leg commencing June 10 at Unity Arena in Oslo, Norway. The tour will continue with an extensive North American run in August and September, followed by shows in Australia and New Zealand in November and a return in January 2027.
Fans can watch the new "Window" music video and stream the full Your Favorite Toy album to experience the latest chapter from Foo Fighters. This release confirms the band's ongoing commitment to delivering compelling rock music with passion and authenticity.
