AceShowbiz - The White Lotus is gearing up for its fourth season, with new plot details and casting announcements emerging as production officially starts. HBO’s acclaimed anthology series continues its tradition of setting each season in a fresh exotic locale, this time moving to the glamorous French Riviera.
Following previous seasons set in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand, the upcoming episodes of The White Lotus season 4 will unfold primarily in iconic Riviera destinations such as Cannes, St. Tropez, and Monaco. The story will center around a week in the lives of various guests and staff at two distinct White Lotus hotels, set during the renowned Cannes Film Festival.
The two White Lotus locations featured will be the Airelles Château de la Messardière—serving as the White Lotus du Cap—and the Hôtel Martinez, which will represent the White Lotus Cannes. This dual-hotel setting introduces a new narrative structure, with both locations playing critical roles in the overarching storyline.
The cast for season 4 is an impressive ensemble, headlined by Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz as series regulars. Additional cast members include Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer, and Laura Smet.
As with previous seasons, Mike White returns as the creator, writer, director, and executive producer, with David Bernad and Mark Kamine also serving as executive producers. This season marks the show's second European setting, following season 2’s Sicilian backdrop.
Although some legacy characters like Belinda or Greg were pivotal in earlier seasons, it appears they will not be returning for season 4.
Season 4’s Cannes Film Festival setting offers a meta narrative angle, potentially influencing the tone and thematic exploration of the series. While specific story elements remain closely guarded, the new season promises to continue the interconnected themes that fans have come to expect from The White Lotus.
With filming underway, anticipation is building for further updates on release dates and additional plot details. The start of production is a promising indicator that more information will be revealed in the coming months, as viewers eagerly await the next chapter in this critically acclaimed anthology.
