AceShowbiz - CBS Studios has officially ordered the vampire comedy series Eternally Yours for the 2026-2027 broadcast season, marking another collaboration from the creators of the hit show Ghosts. The single-camera comedy pilot, penned and executive produced by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, centers on a unique premise: a vampire couple who have been married for 500 years and now face challenges adapting to their daughter’s human boyfriend.
The storyline follows Charles and Liz, played by Ed Weeks ("The Mindy Project") and Allegra Edwards ("Ghosts"), as they navigate the complexities of their centuries-long marriage. Their quiet existence is disrupted when their daughter’s sincere human boyfriend, portrayed by Parker Young, arrives on the scene, compelling the vampires to reconsider whether their love can endure through eternity.
The pilot episode was directed and executive produced by Trent O'Donnell, with additional executive producers including Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang. The series will be produced under the CBS Studios banner.
In related CBS programming news, the network has chosen not to move forward with the regency-era multi-camera sitcom pilot "The Tillbrooks" by "Big Bang Theory" executive producer Tara Hernandez. This decision means CBS will air three comedy series next season instead of four, while adding two new dramas, "Cupertino" and "Einstein," to its lineup.
Joe Port and Joe Wiseman previously co-created Ghosts, which has been a critical and fan favorite since its debut in 2021. The show aired its fifth season last October and has been renewed for a sixth. Notably, Seasons 2 and 3 of Ghosts earned rare 100% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. Trent O'Donnell also directed and executive produced the pilot for that series.
Eternally Yours will join CBS’s comedy roster alongside established series such as Ghosts and the "Big Bang Theory" spinoff "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage." Meanwhile, fan-favorite "The Neighborhood" is scheduled to conclude with its series finale on May 11 and will not return in the fall.
CBS plans to unveil its complete 2026-2027 broadcast schedule on Wednesday, April 15, revealing further details about its upcoming programming slate.
