AceShowbiz - A new powerhouse in the film and television industry has emerged with the launch of D Most High Film & Television, a Detroit-based production company founded by celebrated screenwriter and director Ericka "with a CK" Smith alongside Detroit hip-hop legend and filmmaker Champtown.
Operating under the executive oversight of iconic actor and entertainer Ice-T, D Most High Film & Television is developing a range of projects for The OG Network, a rising streaming platform created in partnership with Big Court. Multiple films, series, and major productions are already underway for the network.
The company is dedicated to producing diverse content spanning feature films, television series, documentaries, and limited series. Currently, Ericka "with a CK" Smith brings a robust portfolio which includes three completed feature films, a short film, and a television series—all set to be featured on The OG Network.
Champtown, known on The OG Network as "Mr. 10 Words" and serving as its Head of Original Programming, plays a crucial role in connecting creative vision with network execution.
Among the upcoming projects in development:
- Ericka "with a CK" Smith has completed a new untitled feature film that is currently in talks to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ernest Dickerson.
- Champtown is co-creating a one-hour true crime drama with Ice-T, which will also be executive produced by Chad Stahelski, known for John Wick, and his 8711 production company.
- A six-hour limited series focused on the life of Morris Day is in development. The series is produced with Emmy Award-winning producer Tracey Edmonds and executive produced by Morris Day himself.
The company’s operations are further strengthened by the involvement of renowned entertainment attorney Don Wilson, whose client history includes legendary figures such as Frank Sinatra, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Master P, and Chaka Khan.
D Most High Film & Television enters the entertainment arena with nearly three dozen film and television projects in progress. The founders' respective production banners—Sean Van Productions and Champtown Footage Fa Fayz—will continue operating under the D Most High umbrella.
Additionally, Champtown’s documentary, The Untold Story of Detroit Hip-Hop, narrated by Chuck D, is currently available on major streaming platforms including Amazon, Tubi, and Roku.
