BTS returns with "2.0" music video, inspired by the film Oldboy. Watch the septet use dance as their weapon in this cinematic new release.

AceShowbiz - After a four-year break, BTS is back with fresh content for their devoted fanbase, ARMY. On Wednesday, April 1, the K-pop sensation released a new music video for their second track under ARIRANG within just two weeks. Their latest visual for the song “2.0” draws creative influence from a renowned South Korean movie, adding a cinematic flair to their performance.
The video pays homage to the 2003 film Oldboy, directed by Park Chan-wook. It kicks off with the seven members—RM, Jung Kook, V, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jin—exiting an elevator dressed sharply in suits and leather jackets. They encounter a gang of thugs in a dark, gritty hallway. Instead of engaging in physical combat like the film’s protagonist, the group uses their exceptional dance moves and music as weapons to repel their adversaries.
Following this, the scene shifts to another shadowy corridor where the septet continues their synchronized choreography without any hostile presence. The atmosphere then moves to a grimy bathroom where the band performs in front of mirrors while delivering the song’s chorus, intensifying the moody aesthetic.
To emphasize the “2.0” concept, the members return to the elevator and quickly switch into sleek, modern outfits, reflecting the lyric "We on that brand new". The video concludes with a final sequence set in a high-rise building, offering a striking contrast to the earlier scenes.
The band previewed the video with a 30-second teaser on March 31, building anticipation for the full release. This latest visual arrives just days after their album and lead single “SWIM” debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Hot 100 charts, marking significant commercial success.
