AceShowbiz - The Housemaid sequel is officially scheduled for a wide theatrical release on December 17, 2027, Lionsgate announced Monday. The follow-up, titled The Housemaid's Secret, is directed by Paul Feig, who returns after helming the original thriller.
The story continues to focus on Millie, portrayed by Sydney Sweeney, reprising her role from the first film. In this installment, Millie agrees to manage a household for a mysterious woman she is never permitted to meet. As the plot unfolds, Millie uncovers chilling secrets hidden behind a locked door—secrets darker than those she herself harbors.
Kirsten Dunst joins the cast, adding a new dynamic to the franchise, while Michele Morrone returns as Enzo, a character from the original movie. The screenplay is written by Rebecca Sonnenshine, who also penned the script for the initial adaptation of Freida McFadden's novel.
The Housemaid's Secret is produced by Paul Feig and Laura Fischer of Pretty Dangerous Pictures, Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures, and Sydney Sweeney through Fifty-Fifty Films.
