AceShowbiz - Jimmy Fallon delivered a sharp comedic take on Donald Trump's recent State of the Union address during Tuesday's episode of "The Tonight Show."
As the president wrapped up his speech, which lasted approximately an hour and 48 minutes, Fallon opened his monologue with a quip about the event. He joked that if viewers weren’t interested in watching Trump, they could instead tune in to an alternative State of the Union featuring musician Bad Bunny.
Fallon humorously described Trump entering the Capitol and reacting to seeing the members of the House, Senate, and Supreme Court. He imagined the president thinking, "Oh crap. Is this an intervention?" and then quipping, "Wow, everyone I hate in one room. Amazing."
The comedian’s most notable punchline centered on the brief portion of the speech highlighting Trump’s accomplishments. Fallon said, "But tonight, Trump's speech focused on his major accomplishments. And when those eight seconds were up he riffed for an hour and a half." He summarized the address as essentially two hours of Trump boasting about himself, adding that audiences have been hearing this same "State of the Union" daily since the president took office.
Before concluding his segment, Fallon took one last humorous jab comparing Trump’s theme, "America at 250: Strong, Prosperous and Respected," to embroidery on his grandmother’s pillows.
The remarks came shortly after Trump finished his address, breaking his own record from 2025 for the longest joint address to Congress. During the speech, he covered a variety of topics, including immigration, the economy, and military actions abroad. He also introduced special guests, such as the gold-winning U.S. men's hockey team.
At one point in the speech, Trump declared, "We're going to do better and better and better. This is the golden age of America."
Fallon's comedic commentary reflects the mixed public and media reactions to the lengthy address, highlighting the president’s focus on self-praise and the extended duration of the event.
