AceShowbiz - Jimmy Kimmel reacted to former President Donald Trump’s lengthy State of the Union address, calling it “angry” and “incoherent” during his Tuesday monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Jimmy Kimmel explained that the show’s taping had to begin while Trump was still speaking because they waited as long as possible for the former president to finish his nearly two-hour-long speech. The comedian criticized the tone and content of the address, saying, “It was an angry speech. The theme of tonight’s speech was all foreigners are murderers.”

He highlighted Trump’s claim that no illegal aliens had been allowed into the United States during his administration, adding a remark about the former president’s open door policy toward those who enter legally “to be his next wife.”

Jimmy Kimmel also took issue with Trump boasting about ending diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and cutting food stamp benefits for two million people, comparing it to “a Christmas message from the Grinch.” He pointed out the contradiction in Trump applauding a World War II veteran who liberated an internment camp overseas while simultaneously building new camps domestically.

The host questioned Trump’s claim that gas prices had dropped to $1.85 a gallon, and mocked the rambling nature of the speech, asking, “When you ramble mostly incoherently for two hours, is that technically still a speech or does it at some point become a conniption?”

Later in the monologue, Jimmy Kimmel adopted a more serious tone, delivering what he called “the real State of the Union.” He described Trump as a “nut job wannabe king” who censors dissenting opinions and whose administration was responsible for arresting, incarcerating, and even killing American citizens.

Jimmy Kimmel further accused Trump of slashing funding for cancer research and children’s hospitals while accumulating billions of dollars for himself and his family. He charged the former president with attacking voting rights, protecting pedophiles without explanation, and enriching billionaires while neglecting the vulnerable, including the sick, poor, and hungry.

Calling out Trump for doing these things “in the name of Jesus,” Jimmy Kimmel referenced “the Donald Trump edition of the God Bless the USA Bible that is made in China and available for $99.99.” He concluded, “That is the State of the Union,” inviting viewers to watch his full commentary.

On the same night, Donald Trump delivered his address, which lasted approximately one hour and 48 minutes, breaking the 2025 record for the longest joint address to Congress. The speech covered topics such as immigration, the economy, and military actions abroad. Among the special guests featured were the gold-winning U.S. men’s hockey team and Erika Kirk, the widow of late conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

At one point during the speech, the former president declared, “We’re going to do better and better and better. This is the golden age of America.”
